This entry-level robotic floorvac is easy to use and includes an array of convenient features. Simply press the Clean button and the unit will vacuum the whole floor, adjusting automatically to any floor surface including wood, tile linoleum, and low-to-medium pile carpet. The vacuum's artificial intelligence determines the room size and adjusts the run time to ensure that it cleans the entire floor. Integrated sensors detect dirt and will increase the focus and intensity of cleaning in that area, while infra-red cliff sensors in the non-marring bumper detect stairs to keep the unit from falling, as well as furniture and walls for cleaning right up to the edge.

I've had my Roomba for 3 weeks and it's the best thing that ever happened to my hardwood floors. I was not particularly avid about keeping them clean before, but vacuuming with Roomba is actually FUN. I run it every 2-3 days and it does a great job. Even better, it gets at the ancient dirt in the floorboard cracks, so the floors actually get cleaner with use. And my apartment is less dusty, too. It does a surprisingly good job of manuvering, weaving perfectly under chairs, and it rarely gets stuck. Only once did I have to help it off a rug.

There are a few drawbacks.

Roomba requires maintenance. It takes me 5 minutes after each use to empty its dustbin and clean the main brush (with tweezers, in my case, cause my long hair winds around it). It has a filter that needs replacement every 1-2 months.

My battery lasts between 90 -120 minutes. This is enough time to clean my 400 sq ft apartment, but just barely. Clearly, cleaning a whole house would take several sessions.

And lastly, I do tend to babysit my Roomba - I have a lot of electrical cords around and Roomba has pulled down lightweight appliances once or twice when I was off in another room.

Bottom line: Roomba has limitations and needs a bit of help from us humans, but it's a smart and effective machine. Plus, it's fun. Just writing this review makes me wanna go watch my robot vacuum!

you have to clean your coffee pot in order to brew the best tasting coffee. Is this really a shock? It takes literally two minutes to clean up after making your coffee. Because it brews so quickly, you won't be late for work brewing and wiping the machine down.

you do have to spend a couple of times tweaking the taste. Meaning, if you like it strong, you will have to play with it a bit to figure out what taste is right for you. It took my husband and I about three cups to figure out our individual taste (which are at opposite ends of the spectrum). What's really kick butt about that is we can happily make our own great cup of coffee!

Now I will say that it might benefit you to read pod reviews. I know there are other brands that make pods for the Senseo machine. For those of you who like "hundred mile mud" (translation: uber strong coffee), shop around for some suggestions. Some of the other reviewers have posted some links. I, personally, don't like coffee to grow hair on my chest and drink the Senseo made coffee just fine. French Vanilla is yummy. Don't put milk in your cup while brewing. Wait until after.

It's compact and fits nicely in my not-so-big kitchen. The cup clearance is a bit short (cups 4 1/2" or shorter will work fine without removing the drip cover plate). If you have the short, fat coffee mugs, those work best.

Were you aware that sometimes machines make noise? I've never heard of a silent coffee machine... ever. I'm not sure what other reviewers are complaining about. It revs up to heat the water for a minute or two, brews the coffee and wah lah! Done! So yeah, it makes a brewing noise. It's not "OH MY GOD" loud by any means.

I have not used this product but have used AED's from other companies as well as using the hands-on type of defibrillator used in EDs and in ambulances. These devices save lives, no questions asked. I agree with the posters who suggest training is needed. It should be a pre-requisite that one must received at least basic cardiac care/first aid and CPR prior to being able to purchase this device. Basic CPR now includes a chapter on how to use an AED and that training should suffice. After receiving this low level of training and furnishing the card to Phillips, the person should be able to purchase this device. An AED is safe, effective and fills the gap from the onset of cardiac arrest to the arrival of first responders.

However, buying an AED is not a cure-all. I have been trained on these, and they are very simple to learn to use. However, I think it would be quite difficult for someone who had never used one use it correctly during the stress of a cardiac arrest. If you are considering buying an AED for home or public use, I strongly suggest reading the section on AEDs at the American Heart Association website. It discusses some of the important preparations to consider before the purchase of such a device.

I spent quite a bit of time researching which monitor I would be upgrading to. In the end, I decided I would go to a store and let my eyes do the deciding. The HP monitor, however, just has a much more impressive visual appearance. The light sensitive backlight adjuster is a very nice feature, and the screen has very nice viewing angles

First, this is a great monitor and I like it very much. It has 4 USB ports; two on the left side and two behind the screen. I don't know if it is an issue with my Logitech Wireless Keyboard/Mouse or the USB ports behind the screen but sometimes I have to move the keyboard closer to the monitor so I don't lose keystrokes. Also the on/off switch is on the top right side and whenever I turn the monitor on or off it can cause the screen to rotate just slightly so I have to readjust from time to time; maybe there's a screw I can tighten on the stand but I haven't looked.

Obviously the monitor is big so make sure you have room for it on your desk. The computer section of my desk is in the corner so I can push it back from the front edge but if you are short on room this may be a problem.

I also like that the monitor stand has a tray for pens and other stuff as well as the channels for the power, DVI, USB and other wires keeping everything nice and neat. Beyond a few very minor nits, this is a great monitor....Read More Detail...

Instead of the stock lens that came with the kit, I got the same version only with Image Stablization (IS), so I can't comment on the stock lens. So far I've taken some very good pictures of my family and of landscapes. Using the 'sports' mode, I was able to capture some very fast motion pictures, and they turned out very sharp and clear.

As a DSLR beginner, this is a great camera to learn on, but I realize that as my skill grows, this camera can scale with me due to its excellent quality (10.1 Megapixels) and the accessories is where I'll focus future purchases on (ie Speedlite flash, better lenses, battery grip, etc.)

As a scale the Omron HBF-500 is excellent. It is consistent, in tests with my wife and I (who are more than 100 pounds different in weight) the scale gave the same weight each of 5 times in a row that we stepped on it. So it is consistent. I am a nurse and weighed myself on our calibrated scales and found that this scale weighed me 0.5 pounds heavier than the hospital one, which can be explained by the glass of water I drank when I got home. So it is both consistent and accurate.

So what about the body fat monitor: As to the accuracy of the monitor I cannot speak. However, it is very consistent, much more consistent than the experience that I have had with the handheld-only monitors from Omron. The scale will calculate your percent body fat & your percent skeletal muscle. It will also give you a reading of your visceral body fat, which is a better indicator of your health risk associated with body fat (visceral body fat is the fat which is inside your body surrounding your organs, which subcutaneous fat is the fat that we all see just under our skin). Using these calculations and the user-defined height, weight, and age data that you enter, it will give you your resting metabolic energy needs for the day to give you an idea of how much you should be eating to lose weight in a healthy manner.

The scale has 4 user profiles so that 4 different users can use the scale and track their data. Data can be recalled letting you know what your measurements were yesterday, a week ago, a month ago, and 3 months ago.

The handle fits well inside the front of the scale. I was expecting the scale to be bulkier than it is. It is just a little taller than a normal scale and very attractive. It isn't something that you're going to need to hide between uses. Just put it where any normal bathroom scale would fit.

The scale is a little bit difficult to use if you haven't read the instruction manual. The good news is that the manual is very easy to use and very informative. Plan on 5-10 minutes of reading time when your scale first arrives. You will be glad that you learned all about what your new scale does. After skimming the manual, my wife and I are both able to operate the scale and use all of its functionality.

Price-wise, this seems like an excellent value. The cost of a high-quality scale added to the price of a decent Body-fat monitor (which won't give you the more detailed body composition detail of this hands-and-feet monitor) will be more than the price of this one unit. A lot of the reviews that have been posted are from people that have not purchased the kindle. Some that I have read are misleading, or contain false information. I hope that my post will help those that are considering purchasing this product.

The kindle uses a wireless connection to the internet, this is not wifi. This allows you to download books even if you don't have a computer. It also has a usb connection for the computer. To allow you to transfer files without using the wireless feature.

When you purchase an ebook with Amazon they keep the record of the purchase linked to your account, so you can download it again if it is deleted, lost, stolen, or you purchase a newer version of the kindle.

The digital format lets you enlarge the text, search for keywords and use the built in dictionary. These features really make the jump from paper to digital enjoyable.

Converting PDF and others- you can use mobi to convert PDF and other formats into a kindle readable format. You can then use the usb cable to transfer it directly to your kindle. Alternately you could email the PDF to Amazon and they will convert it for free, and email it back, or for $0.10 send it to your kindle. It would be nice to have direct PDF support on the kindle itself.

Easy to buy books- I haven't used it too much yet, but I have to be careful not to spend too much money. It is nice to be able to go instantly from wanting a book to reading a book, but it is not free.

By the way, a great ebook reader. Not a particularly good cell-phone, PDA, or laptop computer. Did a decent (not great) job on a .pdf conversion for me....More Detail...

I've been using Ooma for a couple weeks now and I'm feel good with this product and service. The first thing I noticed when my shipment arrived was the elegant and solid packaging. The unboxing of Ooma was a delightful experience and the well illustrated user manual made setting up the box a quick and easy process. I was pleasantly surprised with the voice quality - it is excellent.

Besides saving bundles of money on long distance calls, I also like the instant second line and the voice mail feature. The voice mail allows me to screen incoming calls in an answering machine fashion and the web interface gives me access to incoming messages from anywhere I have access to the website.

The Broadband Answering Machine is my favorite value-add, quick access to my voicemail messages from anywhere in the house, or the Internet, with notification via email of new messages.

Ooma is great and will pay for itself in just a few months. If you are looking for ways to minimize your communication bills, Ooma is definitely worth a close look.
